| Erica Lam and I at Flag Day! |
Very early Saturday (February 19th), I woke up and rode to Sha Tin MTR station where we all met. Mrs. Lee gave us our flags (stickers) and our bags to collect money. It was really cold, especially for those who only wore skirts! Coming along with us were some elementary kids to help out- they were also really cute!

In the beginning, I was a bit shy and didn't want to talk to anyone to ask them to buy my flags, so I waited for the people to approach me. That didn't work, so after a few minutes I finally picked up the courage to ask someone in Cantonese, "Please buy a flag to support the Salvation Army!" And she did. After that, it became easy to ask people to buy flags. In the end, I sold all six pages of flags!

I think I collected at least a few hundred dollars in total from selling flags, and I feel really good. I know that those few hundred dollars, no matter how little it may seem, will help some people out there-feed them, clothe them, give them a place to stay, even if its only for a night. When I handed my heavy bag over to the lady, I felt a sense of satisfaction-it almost felt like I was the one who was getting the money. The Bible's right- giving DOES feel better than recieving.
